MainPain Challenge – Day 10 | Challenge Accepted

Yesterday I was challenged in the comments of one of my posts to a Push-Up Challenge by a fellow WordPress blogger whom I know as Koko. At first I thought, “Yeah, right, a push-up challenge, I’m not doing that, that’s crazy.” Then I thought about it a little more last night and thought, “What’s the harm in it?” So, today is day 1 of my push-up challenge with Koko (if she accepts). As I understand it, the challenge will simply be, do as many push-ups as you can each day. So, Koko (and anyone else who’s interested) post your daily push-up count each day on your own blog and perhaps tag it with “#PushUpChallenge.” I’ll need some encouragement and probably jabbing from all of you readers to ensure I do it.

Here are the challenge rules I’m going to abide by for myself.

  • Real Push-ups. No tee pee’s or from the knees push-ups
  • A complete push-up is all the way down (full bend in the elbow) and all the way up
  • This is a 20 day challenge, so the end will be on July 6th, 2015.
  • I’m competing against myself, I’m not going to worry about beating anybody else’s numbers (if you want to beat me though, knock yourself out, though you may want to set a little higher goals 😉

Aside from that, that is all I’m using as my rules for now. I figured I’d post a video of my kick-off. I don’t expect anyone to post a video of their push-ups and I don’t plan on doing a video of all of mine either. This challenge is an attempt to better my own health and fitness and this is simply an addition to my overall MainPain Challenge, so join in for your health too. If nobody joins, no worries, I’m still going to do it. Choose your own rules that work for you. Invite others and make it your own challenge. Maybe a sit-up challenge or something else.

  1. This is fantastic…Okay I’m in. I am working on healing a big tendon/joint issue in my left elbow as well as a tear in my right arm forearm. But I am still in! I will be going slow…Are we doing as may as we can in one set or in an entire day? 🙂

  2. Hahahaha I just saw your video! 50! That’s awesome! I’m going to say hands down you win! I know I can’t do 50 at one time. But I will do how many I can. 😉 As for 50 daily…i’d say just do as many as you can. Push-ups is one of the best exercises you can do! WELL DONE! *Insert cheering section here* 😀

    • Not sure if I posted my update to you or not, but I changed the tag I’m using for the challenge to #PushUpChallenge that way I can post to Twitter as well. I think I’m going to post my pushup sessions to Twitter as I do them so I don’t forget. If you’d like to do the same, awesome, no worries if you don’t. I’m just happy I have a reason to use Twitter finally after 3 or 4 years of having an account. 🙂

      • Haha. Sounds good. I’m new to doing this video thing. I did a video and I have to figure out how to post it so I’m hoping to do it ASAP. I’m going to see the Rolling Stones tonight. If I had my son here I could have it done in like two minutes but looks like I have to fly solo. Perhaps I will post it to Twitter too. If I figure it out, you will see it up… If not, well. You get it. Hahaha.

      • Rolling Stones that’s awesome! I’ll be going to nothing like that. Instead it’s a picnic with a bunch of other families. Not quite rock n roll, but I’m sure there’ll be a bunch of rowdy kids there, they’ll just be 5 and 6 year olds is all. Have fun.

      • Okay I will do more today. Tomorrow will be a lot more now that I know what we are doing. If it’s in an entire day…look out! I can be a beast! Through at one shot I did 25. You will eventually see on the video!
