I started writing book reviews in January of 2013 and found over time, I was also giving my reviews a Rating. I was basing it off my ratings from my Goodreads.com account, but I wasn’t happy with simply telling people that I was giving a book 4 out of 5 stars, I figured I should actually have the stars. So, I dusted off the old keyboard and went to The Google and here’s what I came up with.

★☆☆☆☆ – Did not like it
★★☆☆☆ – It was OK
★★★☆☆ – Liked it
★★★★☆ – Really liked it
★★★★★ – It was amazing

I found this code, surprisingly on WordPress.com here

Here is the code I used to accomplish my goal. It’s actually quite simple really. You can change the size and color of the stars quite easily.

<span style="color: #ffaa00; font-size: 140%;">★☆☆☆☆</span>
<span style="color: #ffaa00; font-size: 140%;">★★☆☆☆</span>
<span style="color: #ffaa00; font-size: 140%;">★★★☆☆</span>
<span style="color: #ffaa00; font-size: 140%;">★★★★☆</span>
<span style="color: #ffaa00; font-size: 140%;">★★★★★</span>
